Corinne Fournier - Good News
Last year I trained several disabled children. Their parents are members of a 10 year old Association for children with cerebral palsy.
Up to now the Association has listed very few methods that they recommend and support. They are very critical and cautious because they are approached by various people, who want to sell their stuff.
Last Friday evening Pierre and I had a meeting with the Board of the Association. The discussion lasted for three hours. What was at stake was whether they would list neurofeedback as an approved method or not.
Saturday was the annual meeting with the families. Many families attended. I gave a talk starting with a general presentation of NeuroCARE®. Then parents told about the significant changes they saw in their children and about their decision to buy the system.
They all started by saying that they had tried many different methods over the years, and that before I ran their children with NeuroCARE®, they had never seen such results.
One mother told about her 18 year old son who is epileptic, autistic and violent. Every month he used to have seizures followed by 9 days of violence. The mother said that violence and epilepsy are now 70% less compared to last year. He also now looks at people right in the eyes, at first a fleeting look and now sustained. He is joyful and wants to communicate more, says more words. The mother says the diminution of violence is a huge change for her and also for the younger sister who is less afraid of her brother.
One mother told about her daughter who used to have several seizures every week. Now she has one every two months. She used to be quite agitated, bumping her head really hard. Now she is much calmer and more present. Her look and her face have changed, are more expressive. She talks more, her sentences are more structured, and she started to use the pronouns “I” and “you” properly which she never did before.
A father told about his son who is now much more concentrated and pays more attention during classes, learns more easily, whether for cognitive or physical exercises.
Another mother told about her 12 year old autistic daughter who had never slept before, was self-mutilating and had never hugged or kissed her. When she said her daughter now sleeps full nights, is much calmer and hugs and kisses her, she started crying. So you know me, I cried too, couldn't help it. We got an ovation.
I ended with some slides about the learning process and synaptic changes and the whole process of transformation within the family. And people applauded again.
Then, the president of the association officially announced that neurofeedback using NeuroCARE® was now a recommended method, which also means financial support for families who choose to train with NeuroCARE®.
So Pierre and I are very happy!
All the families I know are very happy too.
And many new families want to try.
